Kate in Glenwood City was feeling sad for all the seniors in high school, who have had their last chance at a lot of high school milestones disrupted by COVID 19. She put out a call for seniors to send in a photo*, a few things about themselves, and a favorite quote. Then she is using this Canva template (she generously shared it with us!) to create an 8.5×11 laminated poster for each student, which she is hanging in the windows of area businesses. She consciously decided not to include the library logo–she wanted this to be all about the seniors.
Once restrictions are lifted they are going to have a scavenger hunt to encourage people to look for all the seniors around town. She’s heard from many families that having this kind of recognition and celebration of their seniors has been moving and meaningful.
*If seniors want to use their senior photos, there MIGHT be some issues with that related to copyright. If you are worried, encourage them to send in a candid shot or ask them to check.
