Folks at the Pepin Library had fun with the Bassmeister this summer, with puppets, ventriloquism, illusions, visual props, and plenty of humorous but important safety tips. About 50 people attended an indoor picnic and the show–pretty terrific turnout for Pepin!

4YA: Inspiration for Youth Advocates is a blog that is chock-full of ideas for art projects, organizations that are doing great things with kids, examples of terrific marketing, cool websites, and many other things that will be useful and thought-provoking for people who work with teens. They are creating a series of pages about suggestions for programs based on literature, including games, crafts, and more. This blog is not designed specifically for librarians, but it sure has a lot of terrific ideas for us!

More great websites for kidsALSC has added 16 more recommended websites to Great Web Sites for Kids, its online resource containing hundreds of links to exceptional websites for children. The site features links to websites of interest to children 14 years of age and younger, organized into diverse subject headings–a great place to send kids, teachers, parents who are looking for homework help, information, or just a way to pass some time.

Jenny at Colfax has recruited a teen to write a book review for their blog–a great way to get kids involved and give them (and their literature) a little more visibility. To see the blog post, check out the Colfax Public Library Blog!
