Keeping Up With Kids

(CD cover)

Colleen and Karen from the Chippewa Falls Public Library collaborated with the Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls for a fabulous New Year’s Eve Dance Party!  They played music, used instruments and parachutes (some from the IFLS kits), danced, sang, and made art projects.  They had at least 75 kids, and lost count of the total number of people somewhere around 110!

Colleen said that Carole Peterson music was an especially big hit at this dance party–that’s a new musician for me to explore.  I’m looking forward to checking some of her recordings out.

What a great collaboration!  The Heyde Center staff has some great publicity contacts and a really fun, big space for a dance party.  The youth services librarians have the know-how for creating a really great event for preschoolers and their parents.
