Keeping Up With Kids

This year’s ALA Annual Conference was the site of a Guerrilla Storytime Action–youth services librarians gathering in a public place to talk about storytime–sharing ideas about early literacy strategies, methods for getting kids and adults back on track, favorite rhymes, books, activities, and more.  Like a big, supportive show and tell, with lots of time for questions, answers, and advice-giving.

Does that sound cool OR WHAT??  The folks who organized it came up with a great website to help spread the practice, make storytime sharing even easier, and build a community of literacy-promoting youth services librarians.  But also super-cool:  This year, Guerrilla Storytime is coming to the Wisconsin Library Association Conference–Thursday morning, during the no-conflict exhibit time, there will be Guerrilla Storytime happening on the (new) stage in the exhibit hall.  Bring your ideas, or just bring yourself, needing inspiration and camaraderie!
