Keeping Up With Kids

Jenny at Colfax had some great news:

“Thought I’d let you know what the Colfax Teens are up to. We decided to do our first teen book club this summer and our first book discussion went well. We read The House of The Scorpion by Nancy Farmer for our first title. We had a lively discussion about interesting characters in the book, the imaginative plot and the subject of human cloning. I found some helpful discussion questions on the site bookbrowse.com, just click on the book clubs tab and you can search by title, theme or author.

For our next book we’ll be reading and discussing Freak the Mighty, after our discussion time we’ll have pizza and watch the movie.

I am very happy with our first attempt at a teen book club and would encourage any library to give it a try if you never have.”
