Nationwide Teen Lock-In

Keeping Up With Kids

Many libraries in the area have teen lock-in programs, extravaganzas that happen after-hours.  Some last all night, some for a few hours, but in every case teens clamor for more chances to spend time together in the library when no one else is there.  Chances are if you haven’t had a lock-in, teens are asking for one.

The most recent issue of VOYA has an article about a Nationwide Teen Lock-In, to be held Friday, August 1, 2014.  Libraries can sign up to participate, and then schedule their own activities and times, but there are also virtual author visits and competitions that each library can participate in, too.  This will be the third nationwide lock-in event, and teens have really enjoyed the chance to connect with people from all over the country, and participate in virtual author visits and other events that might not be possible with a smaller group.

Thinking about participating?  Let me know!  I would love to hear about how it goes for you!
